Oshun awoke feeling the softness of the sheets on which she slept. Her skin felt the coolness of the air as she rose to open the curtains in her room. She looked out across the lawn and smiled. This place where the Palace had been placed at the intersection of the nine rivers never ceased to inspire her. As daylight flooded the room Oshun realized that there was the sadness again.. But this morning there was another emotion inside of her. Time to take action, time to step outside of her Palace and call out to the Queens., tell them that the shells have spoken. Just like she had been called by the Orishas to help save the Earth by appealing to Oludamare, it was her honesty that convinced him. When Ogun stopped creating the Earth Oshun drew him out of seclusion with her dance and honey, she knew this was again a time for her to awaken what had been lost. Her Queens had forgotten their deepest desires and needs. The shells had given her the rituals of renewal. She had seen the exhaustion in their eyes and the disconnection from their bodies. The Earth called out to Oshun especially the waters. The waters were as dark and murky as the look in the eyes of the Queens. No more could this go on. Oshun had heard the call, she knew the dance, she would help the Queens remember.
